The Last Days

Bible Reading: Luke 21:5-36

In Luke 21:5-36 Jesus talks about what it will be like during the last days of this earth. The things Jesus describes are very scary, even terrifying!

It seems impossible for anyone to survive during these last days much less live abundant, peaceful, joy-filled lives…but for Christians, it is possible.

How? What is the key to living a life filled with abundance, peace, and joy during hard, frightening times?

Prayer. I’m not talking about a panicked, “God, I need help!” prayer. I’m talking about making prayer as integral to our lives as breathing, about living in a continual attitude of prayer, about making prayer a way of life.

To make prayer a way of life, turn your internal monologue into an endless conversation with God (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Tell Him about everything in your life, from major events to joys and fears, even tiny “insignificant” details. This conversation with God should never end.

When you make prayer a way of life, you release God's power. You allow God to work in you and through you and around you. When you are surrounded by God’s power, there is no need to fear anything, even the frightening events of the earth’s last days.

I trust that you will begin today to make prayer your personal way of life so you will remain strong and free of fear in these last days.

“But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.” Luke 21:14 & 15

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to remain continually in contact with you so I can draw strength and hope and courage from Your presence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
