Bible Reading: John 11:25, 26
Life was Jesus’ idea and Jesus was the one who created it. Only Jesus is able to give life. Jesus gave us life originally when He created us and the rest of the world. He intended that we would live a perfect life in paradise with Him forever.
Sin spoiled Jesus’ plans. Sin separated us from Jesus by dooming us to eternal death. Eternal death means being separated from Him forever. Jesus didn’t want us to be separated from Him forever, so He came up with another plan.
In John 11:25 & 26, Jesus spoke to Martha. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” Then he asked Martha, “Do you believe this?” Jesus had a plan. He explained that plan to Martha – Die to yourself. Believe in me [Jesus]. Live forever.
The plan Jesus detailed to Martha is Jesus’ plan for us, too. When Jesus physically died and was resurrected or raised back to life, we were resurrected or raised back to life spiritually. We no longer need to suffer eternal death by being separated from God forever. We only need to die to ourselves, believe in Jesus, and live forever.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I totally buy into Jesus’ plan. I believe in Jesus. I choose to die to myself by giving you 100% control of my life. I want to live forever with You! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
