The Path

Bible Reading: Genesis 3:15 & John 14:1-7

I live in Ohio. Each fall, a number of corn mazes are opened for people to visit. To most people it may seem that a corn maze is simply a winding path cut into a cornfield.

However, there is much more to creating a corn maze. Creating a corn maze takes a lot of planning.

First, the farmer much choose a design. This design is then draw out on graph paper. Corn is planted in both directions. The design is then marked out with stakes and twine. After that, the farmer hoes or ploughs out the corn in the marked out area to create the design. Finally the corn surrounding hoed area is left to grow to heights of 9-10 feet tall. Come fall, there is a maze ready to thrill and entertain visitors.

Corn mazes aren’t the only paths that take time.

God created a special path for us. A path that leads straight to heaven. This path started just after Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden when God made this promise in Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” The path to heaven promised in this verse leads straight to Jesus who tells us in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is The Path that leads to heaven.

Have you followed The Path that God created? Have you accepted Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life? Are you allowing to lead you along the path to everlasting life?

“…It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,...Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10b, 12

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for preparing The Path to heaven for me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
