Lies Corrupt

We all like new things. Sadly, nothing stays new forever. Everything wears out or breaks eventually.

I’ve seen people who will buy something new, like a car or a sweater, then, as soon as the item becomes scratched or gets a small snag, they throw it away. Why? In their eyes, the item has become corrupted.

Scratches and snags may corrupt things like new cars or new sweaters, but lies corrupt our hearts and lives.

We lie to protect ourselves. We lie to avoid facing our problems. We lie to avoid dealing with the truth.

However, those lies corrupt our relationship with God. They corrupt our relationships with other people. They corrupt our own hearts and souls.

How can we avoid being corrupted by lies?

Proclaim truth. Promote truth. Live truth.

What is truth?

Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus is The Truth that offers us salvation and freedom from sin, including lies. Jesus Christ is The Truth that removes the corrupt things in our lives and makes us new again.

Turn to The Truth. Let Jesus make you new again.

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making me new again in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
