Bible Reading: Isaiah 1:18-20
"'Come now, let’s settle this,' says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.'" These words of God are found in Isaiah 1:18.
In this verse, God is saying that it is only logical that our sins should be erased and our lives made pure, white, righteous.
Most people reading this would agree that it seems logical for our lives to be made right with God and for us honor and obey a God and receive the blessings that God offers.
If getting right with God is so logical and reasonable, why are so many people so hesitant or unwilling to confess, forgive, be forgiven, and be made right with God? Why don't they see the logic of having a heart that is pure, that is as white as snow?
Some people choose not to become right with God because they don't trust God to do what is best for them. They want to decide for themselves how to live.
Some people are simply stubborn. They refuse to believe that God knows what is best for them.
Other people want to have their lives made right with God. They just don't want to do it now. Instead, they want to live their own way, for now. They say that they will make things right with God later. Sadly, later often never comes.
Don't wait. Don't be too proud or too stubborn. Trust God. Go to Him now and tell Him you want to make your life right with Him. Tell Him that you see the logic in having a pure, righteous life that honors God and offers you eternal rewards. You will be blessed!
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive my stubbornness and pride. Forgive my sin. Help me to live to please You from now on. In Jesus' name. Amen.
