Voices

Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 7:5

The Sirens of Greek mythology had beautiful, alluring voices. Sailors often followed these attractive voices to their deaths because these voices led them toward dangerous, rocky areas where their ships crashed and were destroyed.

The advice of foolish people who don't follow the Bible's ways and teachings is like the voice of a Siren. It may sound good on the surface. It may sound like what we want to hear. It may sound attractive, beautiful, and enticing, but it is very dangerous to follow. We need to be very careful to stay away from such advice. We need to run the other way when fools try to give us advice, because, in reality, it is deceptive and wrong.

King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. In today's Bible reading King Solomon wrote, "It is better to heed a wise man's rebuke than to listen to the song of fools." I hope you will listen to King Solomon's advice. I hope you will be careful to follow only advice that will lead you to take godly paths and make Christ-honoring decisions.

"The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment." Proverbs 10:21

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to always seek advice from wise people. In Jesus' name. Amen."
