Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 4:13-16
Temptations that lure us, decisions we must make, problems that threaten to overwhelm us – There are many situations that occur that require wisdom.
Wisdom generally increases with age. However, there can be very wise young people and very foolish old people. Verse 13 of today's Bible reading says, "Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to take warning."
We need to seek out wisdom, if we want to have it at hand when we face temptations, decisions, and problems. The most important thing we can do to become wise is to follow the instruction of James in James 1:5. This verse says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."
Here are a few more pointers that will help us to be sure that our wisdom will increase as we age so we will have wisdom when we need it:
1. Listen to others (James 1:19).
2. Know our own limits (Proverbs 3:5).
3. Remain humble (Psalm 147:6).
4. Seek wisdom in the Bible (Psalm 19:7).
5. Ask God for wisdom (Proverbs 2:6).
I hope you grow in God's grace and wisdom day by day.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me wisdom to face the challenges of my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
