Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Almost everyone likes having a new car. Sooner or later, every new car become scratched or dented.
Would you throw away a new car or stop using it because it go a scratch or dent?
No. Even though the car isn't perfect, you can still drive it. The car still has value and usefulness.
That's how God sees us. We aren't perfect. We have flaws. We have scratches and dents. Yet God can and does use any of us who are willing to be used to do His work.
Moses is a good example. Moses lacked confidence. Moses was nervous and afraid. Moses made excuses to try to avoid doing the job God wanted him to do. Moses even committed murder!
In spite of all those "scratches" and "dents" God used Moses to rescue the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
You and I have scratches and dents, too. We may have physical weaknesses or diseases. We may be too shy or too brash. We may have committed awful sins or crimes.
It doesn't matter. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." If we give our hearts and lives to God by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God will gladly accept us into His family and use us to accomplish His special work – scratches, dents, and all!
I hope you will chose to allow God to use you to do His work in spite of whatever scratches or dents you may have.
"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." 1 Corinthians 1:27
Prayer: Heavenly Father, use me to do Your work, in spite of my scratches and dents. In Jesus' name. Amen.
