The New You

Bible Reading: Ephesians 4:19-24

Everyone likes new things – A new car. New house. New clothes. A new computer.

God likes new things, too. God likes new things so much that He created a way for us to be new again. When we accept Jesus' salvation we become new.

We receive a new heart. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26).

We receive a new spirit. “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 11:19).

We receive a new mind and attitude. “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds” (Ephesians 4:22 & 23).

We receive a new self. “And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).

We even receive the promise of a new home and eternal life in heaven. “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24).

Praise God for making us new when we welcome Jesus Christ into our lives!

Go ahead! Enjoy the new you!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making me new in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
