God Counts Every Tear

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

Bible Reading: Psalm 56:8

There is an old expression that says, “When you laugh, the world laughs with you. When you cry, you cry alone.”

That expression isn’t totally accurate. Whether we laugh or cry, we never laugh or cry completely alone.

While you may feel alone and forgotten when you are struggling through sad, depressing times or when your heart is aching from a broken relationship or the death of a loved one, you are never totally alone.

God is with you. Psalm 56:8 says, “Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll – are they not in your record?” (Emphasis added.) God not only hurts when you hurt and cries when you cry, He counts every tear you shed. He knows when you shed each tear and why you shed each one of them.

If you let Him, He can dry every tear you shed from now on.

Also, keep in mind that those tears won’t last forever. One day soon, Jesus will return. When He does, “He will wipe every tear” (Revelation 21:4), and you and I will never cry again!

Amen!

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Prayer: Heavenly Father, it is so comforting to know that You are with me to dry my tears. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
