Names of God: Prince of Peace

Imagine a small stream. If you walked upstream far enough, you would eventually come to its source, probably a fountain or spring of some sort. The water bubbling up

from that fountain is the origin, source, or root of that stream.

Jesus is like that fountain. Jesus is the origin of our peace. Peace is more than just getting away from the noise and stress of the workplace or home. Peace is a sense of completeness, a soundness or quietness of mind and spirit. Peace is a sense of total well-being. We can never achieve true peace without Jesus. Jesus is the source of peace. He is the source of peace “which transcends all understanding” and which “will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). Jesus is the place where that amazing peace begins.

Is your life filled with stress and strife? Do you ache for peace?

Turn to Jesus. Follow your desire for peace to the source. Give your life to Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and Jesus will give you perfect peace.

Let’s pray together…Heavenly Father, we give you our lives. Please give us Your peace. In Jesus name. Amen.

John 14:7 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Romans 5:1 & 2 – “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.”
