Listen then Do

Bible Reading: James 1:22-25

Have you asked God to help you make a decision but are still waiting for an answer?

God may have already given you your answer. He may have seen to it that you have

all of the facts and know what choice is right. He may now be leaving it to you to make that choice.

The hold up might be you. You may be avoiding the final decision because you don’t like the idea of doing what you know you should do. Instead of making the right choice you are continuing to sit and wait hoping that God will come up with another solution when you already know, in your heart, the right thing to do.

If you have asked God to give you the wisdom and knowledge that you need to make a choice, and deep down you know what you must do -- do it. God did his part. Now it’s time for you to do yours and follow the advice James gives in verse 22 of today’s Bible reading: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” James 2:26

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the courage to do what I know I should do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
